Guitariste auteur-compositeur interprète
Bholen, de son vrai nom Léon Bombolo wa Lokole, est né le 11 juillet 1936 à Kinshasa. Il effectue ses premiers pas dans la musique en apprenant la guitare auprès de mentors et peaufine ses connaissances auprès de Raymond Brainck et de Nedule Papa Noël.
Il débuta sa carrière en 1957 dans l’orchestre « Vedette Jazz » auprès des Baguette, Lasso, Mujos… avant de rejoindre l’O.K Jazz en tant que guitariste accompagnateur en 1959 et jusqu’en 1961, période durant laquelle il côtoyait Luambo Franco, mais aussi Dihunga Djeskain, Albino Kalombo, Bosuma Dessoin, tous musiciens confirmés ainsi que deux nouveaux chanteurs Mujos et Kwamy.
